A evening of art and architectural films, with after dinner drinks
UPDATE: We can confirm that we will be screening two short films by the Eameses, if there is time, plus Joris Ivens’s classic twelve-minute city symphony film from 1929, Regen (Rain).
Dear Art and Architecture Club / Goodenough College members
You are all invited to a film screening and social this Sunday 23 November, in the Willy G large common room. After dinner drinks will be provided from 8 pm, and the screenings will run through the evening.
The centrepiece of the film screening will be Frank Gehry: An Architecture of Joy, a 58 minute long documentary about the world famous architect of the Bilbao Guggenheim and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles. This film is courtesy of a current Goodenough member, Ben Blackwood:

The evening will also feature screenings of artists’ films, many of them by Goodenough members and alumni, including Deirdre O’Dwyer, Katherine Bash, and more.
Since Sunday is also the Art and Architecture Club’s trip to the Cold War Modern exhibition at the V&A, we will also endeavour to screen a couple of films by Charles and Ray Eames, in keeping with the theme, if we have enough time (Charles and Ray Eames feature prominently in the Cold War Modern exhibition).
This evening is open to all Goodenough residents, not just Art and Architecture Club members, so feel free to forward this webpage to friends who might like to come for after dinner drinks, plus a film or five.
